Edge of Extinction Test Client - (12 Mb)
This is our 2D shooter demo, based off the code written for the Edge of Extinction game. It's meant to be a way to test how the OpenSkies network handles things, but we've tried to make it a fun game as well -- because hey, more testers equals a better test, right? You need to create a Network Account to play. Once you have, just download and install this self-extracting package. You will be prompted to input your OpenSkies Network handle and password when you start Edge of Extinction, and you will need to already be connected to the internet when you start it. To run Edge of Extinction, you will need DirectX 8.0 or better installed on your system before you install this file, and any standard 3D graphics card. Other configurations may work, but they are not recommended.

The preview trailer for Edge of Extinction before work was frozen, this is NOT a preview of the Mini-Edge game you can download above. Compressed for download, this RealMedia version of the original Edge of Extinction movie is easily handled by even slower computers. Thanks to GameSpy and FilePlanet for hosting the files.

Popular around the office, this background graphic is a 2.5 meg bitmap that gives your desktop the look of the Edge of Extinction website. Icons look really good in the little grey window on the left. We've removed all text, so you won't feel like your desktop is an advertisement. Use your favorite ZIP decoder to unzip the file.
