Edge of Extinction advance screen shots:

AvatarA.I. Avatar, initial model
(lrgav.jpg, 13kb, 500x375 pixels)

This model is the "go-between" vehicle in Edge of Extinction, and is the resurrect vehicle for backup copies of your A.I.

Hyper CycleHyper Cycle, initial model
(lrgbike.jpg, 23kb, 500x375 pixels)

The hyper cycle is the ground mobility vehicle of choice in Edge of Extinction -- light weaponry and extreme maneuverability make this one of the toughest opponents to kill in the game.

BuffaloBuffalo Aircraft, initial model
(lrgbuff.jpg, 21kb, 500x375 pixels)

This aircraft is heavily weaponed, and one of the fastest vehicles in the game. It flies pretty much like a modern aircraft, making it dangerous in the hands of an experienced player.

CondorCondor, initial model
(lrgcondo.jpg, 46kb, 500x375 pixels)

The condor is a mixed bag of helicopter technology and scavanged parts from the invaders. This is the hardest craft to control in the game, but a more than formidable opponent in the hands of a skilled player.

Ducknose FighterDucknose Fighter, initial model
(lrgduck.jpg, 18kb, 500x375 pixels)

The Ducknose Fighter is a more straightforward FPS vehicle, depending heavily on salvaged thruster technology to make controlling it easier.

FerretFerret Ground-assault Craft, initial model
(lrgferr.jpg, 13kb, 500x375 pixels)

The Ferret is a mid-level ground craft, combining defense and offense in an easily controlled and moved package.

Ground TankGround Tank, initial model
(lrggtank.jpg, 16kb, 500x375 pixels)

For those who prefer their carnage more traditional, the Ground Tank packs the best armor and weaponry selection in the the game into one ground vehicle. Not the best solo player vehicle to use, but absolutely lethal when you've got teammates to cover you.

RuinsRuins, concept model
(lrgruin.jpg, 16kb, 500x375 pixels)

This design is another of the multiple types of vehicle bases that will appear in Edge of Extinction.

ScreamerScreamer, concept model
(lrgscrm.jpg, 45kb, 500x375 pixels)

This craft is entirely conceptual for now, but should be one of the fastest, if lightly armed, vehicles in the game due to the massive thrusters it packs.

SquidbotSquidbot, concept model
(lrgsquid.jpg, 13kb, 500x375 pixels)

This craft is entirely conceptual for now.

TurretsTurrets, concept sketch
(lrgturr.jpg, 43kb, 500x375 pixels)

These are a pair of defense turrets, available to defend bases in Edge of Extinction.

Panel 1EoE Panel Display, version 1, progression 1 of 3
(lgpanel1.jpg, 20kb, 500x375 pixels)

The first version of a working game panel in EoE, some of the instruments are now working, but the look and other selection of instruments are not done yet.

Panel 2EoE Panel Display, version 1, progression 2 of 3
(lgpanel2.jpg, 19kb, 500x375 pixels)

Another panel shot.

Panel 3EoE Panel Display, version 1, progression 3 of 3
(lgpanel3.jpg, 19kb, 500x375 pixels)

Another panel shot.

Hover Tank 2Hover Tank, version 2, side view
(newtank1.jpg, 19 kb, 500x375 pixels)

The Hover Tank is a modifed construction of old Earth tanks, with modifications allowing the use of scrounged thrusters and weaponry instead of treads and shells. This is version 2 of the Hover Tank.

Hover Tank 2Hover Tank, version 2, back view
(newtank2.jpg, 19 kb, 500x375 pixels)

This back view of the Hover Tank shows some of the items you didn't see in the previous screen shots.

Hover Tank 2Hover Tank, version 2, profile
(newtank3.jpg, 19 kb, 500x375 pixels)

This side view of the Hover Tank shows best some of the additions in this newest skin.

Hover TankHover Tank, bottom
(lgtank.jpg, 27 kb, 500x375 pixels)

The Hover Tank is a modifed construction of old Earth tanks, with modifications allowing the use of scrounged thrusters and weaponry instead of treads and shells.

Hover TankHover Tank, side
(lgtank2.jpg, 36 kb, 500x375 pixels)

This better view of the Hover Tank shows the armor extension and streamlining to cover the "treads" where the thrusters are now mounted.

Hover TankHover Tank, on ground
(lgtank3.jpg, 14 kb, 500x334 pixels)

The Hover Tank is shown on the ground here, with a base built on an old human road in the background. The terrain used in this shot is one of our earliest implementations, which is why it is still green.

Hover TankHover Tank, top profile
(lgtank4.jpg, 36 kb, 500x399 pixels)

A top view of the Hover Tank that clearly shows the twin weapon barrells mounted on the front. The sky background is merely a concept, the model is the actual one.

Hover TankHover Tank battle scene, concept sketch
(lrgswarm.jpg, 33 kb, 500x375 pixels)

This battle scene was assembled with various game models to show the "massive multiplayer" potential of Edge of Extinction.

Hover TankLambda, airborne
(lrglamb1.jpg, 14 kb, 500x335 pixels)

Another early terrain version screenshot, the Lambda is shown flying over a ground base. Also pictured is an early test version of a missile (which will look nothing like that when we are done).

Hover TankT-34 Airplane, airborne
(lrgt341.jpg, 16 kb, 500x333 pixels)

What is a T-34 Airplane doing in the middle of all this? Since we already had it made, the T-34 was one of our first test vehicles for Edge of Extinction. Shooting it down with high-powered alien/human hybrid-craft is rather gratifying, we must admit.
